Recipe of the famous Bryndzové Halusky
Bryndzové Halusky
Recipe:
For 4 people : 600g of potatoes, 300g of flour, 300g of bryndza*, 150g bacon, a dash of salt.
Peel the raw potatoes and grate them finely. Add the flour to the grated potatoes. The ratio of potatoes and flour maybe successfully changed in order to get a distinct potato or flour taste to the Halusky and a little water might be added to get the right consistency for the dough. Afterwards, put the dough into boiling water. When the water rolls over in a boil and the Halusky floats to the surface, we remove them from the water and put them into a bowl, where we mix in bryndza and dribble the cubes of sauteed bacon over the surface.
* bryndza = soft “cheese” from sheep’s milk.
